Decision Making Under Pressure

Most behavior challenges don’t happen because students don’t know expectations.
They happen because pressure collapses the space to think.

In high-pressure moments—conflict, frustration, peer influence, emotional escalation—students often react faster than they can think. My work helps students slow the moment down, recognize pressure signals, and make better decisions before consequences follow.

The Pause–Sort–Act (PSA) Decision Framework

• Pause – Interrupt impulsive reactions in real time
• Sort – Quickly assess options, consequences, and next steps
• Act – Choose responses aligned with safety, goals, and expectations

This framework is practiced through storytelling, poetic reflection, and facilitated discussion so students can apply it in classrooms, hallways, athletics, and everyday decision-making.

How The Work Is Delivered

  • Skill transfer across settings

In Practice

Simple. Professional. Observational

Sessions are structured, calm, and grounded in real situations students face.

The focus is not on motivation alone, but on helping students recognize pressure, slow their responses, and practice making better decisions in the moment.

Whether working with a full assembly or a small group, the same core decision-making framework is reinforced through storytelling, reflection, and facilitated discussion.
